Liftmaster LA412 Solar Powered Gate Opener

This is the latest version of Liftmaster’s LA400 series. The LA412 integrates a solar panel making it a great option when installing a 110v circuit is not feasible.

It delivers power when needed most for opening the gate and minimizes power consumption at all other times for best solar performance. Its DC motor provides soft start/soft stop operation, which promotes longer gate and operator life, as well as dependable performance. The LA412 is capable of operating gates up to 16 feet long and weighing up to 550 pounds.

Although, I recommend using it on smaller gates no more than 12 feet long. Also, there must be no obstructions to sun light from the Southwest for the solar panel.

I would rate this gate opener as one of the best solar powered options.

Portecochere Double Arched Swing Gates

See how we matched the arch in the portecochere, with these double arched scrolled swing gates. Also, collars were included on the pickets to provide additional design features. The c-channel near the bottom provides a place to mount the gate openers to each gate.

We used the Liftmaster dual LA400 swing gate operators to power the gates.

Why Does My Slide Gate Suddenly Reverse While Trying To Open/Close?

This can be caused by several things, but here are the most common causes:

1. Something is on the v-track.

Solution: Clean the track.

2. One the wheels is not working corretly; it is damaged or requires lubricatioin.

Solution: Lubricate or replace the wheel.

3. Chain is loose.

Solution : Tighten the chain, it should have no more than 4″ sag.

These are the most common causes of the auto-reverse problem. If this doesn’t work you can contact us to schedule a service call.

US Automatic Patriot I Control Box With Battery Installed

Make sure connections are clean. (Clean connections with a baking soda & water solution)

Remove filler caps on the battery to check water level.

Fill to about 1/2″ below cap. Check water level every three months.

This will make your battery last about three years.
